Who Qualifies For A Bursary Or College Student Loan From NSFAS?
The National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) has formally opened the 2025 application system.
Applications are actually open and will close on fifteen December 2024.
*** Who qualifies for NSFAS funding
To qualify for NSFAS funding, an applicant must satisfy the subsequent criteria:
• Be a South African citizen or copyright who comes from a home using a combined gross domestic income that does not exceed R350 000 for each annum.
• People with disabilities qualify if their combined domestic cash flow doesn't exceed R600 000 per annum.
• SASSA recipients immediately qualify for funding and wish not submit any proof of income.
*** Loan Scheme for the Missing Middle
The NSFAS Loan Scheme for the missing middle is open to all South African citizens and permanent inhabitants from homes with combined R350 000 and R600 000 for each annum.
Applicants are reminded to offer the right Identification Document numbers, names, and surname, as reflected within their South African ID.
NSFAS only funds individuals who are learning or intend to study in a general public university or TVET college in South Africa.
All students who wish to study in any of the public universities and TVET colleges should apply timeously and not to wait here until the last day.
Learners do not have to wait for matric results to apply for NSFAS. They should apply now and avoid delays in the processing of their application.
